Frequently asked question
Dulcoflex is a stimulant laxative that helps in managing constipation. It stimulates the bowel muscles to help pass stool and makes the stool soft, making it easier to come out. Dulcoflex is available in two forms: Dulcoflex suppositories and Dulcoflex tablets. Suppositories are for rectal use only and provide relief in 15 minutes while tablets are for oral use and provide overnight relief in 6-12 hours.
Dulcoflex is made up of Bisacodyl IP. People aged above 10 years can take Dulcoflex tablets containing Bisacodyl IP 5mg or Dulcoflex suppositories containing Bisacodyl IP 10 mg while children aged between 4 to 10 years can be given Bisacodyl 5mg.
It works by stimulating the bowel muscles and also by accumulating water in the intestines. This helps to soften the stool and produce a bowel movement more quickly. The tablets should be taken at bedtime to produce a bowel movement the next morning. The suppositories usually take about 15 minutes to work.
Dulcoflex suppositories provide the following benefits:
