WHO reports the death of more than 1.2 million adolescents every year due to preventable causes.
-The latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO) suggests that more than 3000 adolescents die every day, which sums to about 1.2 million adolescent deaths every year.
-It was observed that these deaths were commonly due to preventable causes that broadly included, road traffic injuries, lower respiratory infections, and suicides.
-Some of the most common reasons for these frequent health concerns included physical inactivity, poor and unhealthy diet, and risky sexual health behaviors.
-As per the WHO 2015 report, more than two third of the deaths occurred in the low and middle-income countries in South East Asia and Africa.
