1 . Lemon
Lemon is packed with citric acid which is an excellent natural bleaching agent, the citric acid in lemon also breaks down the deposits of dead skins, making it easy to exfoliate and scrub away the dead skin in the folds of the elbows and knees.
-Apply lemon juice or run half a lemon on the affected areas, keep for 30 minutes and wash away with warm water.
-Avoid using lemons or lemon juice if there are any cuts or nicks on the affected area.
2 . Coconut Oil
Packed with Vitamin E that hydrates the skin, coconut oil also helps in reducing blemishes and evening out skin tone. Apply coconut oil 2-3 times a day on knees and elbows to prevent skin from darkening.
-Mix 1 teaspoon coconut oil with ½ teaspoon of lemon juice. Keep for 20 mins and use warm water to rinse. Use every day until knees and elbows have lightened.
-Mix Coconut oil with powdered walnut shell to make a natural scrub for dark spots. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week with this mix.
3 . Curd
Curd helps moisture the skin and is also a natural bleaching agent. The pH level of yoghurt also helps keep skin infection free and cleanses it.
-Mix 1 tablespoon curd with 2 table spoons besan to make a thick paste. Apply this to the affected areas for 15-20 minutes and wash with warm water. Apply a moisturizer after drying off.
-Mix 1 teaspoon of curd with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for white vinegar. Apply to the knees and elbows for 10 mins. Wash with warm water and use it for 3-4 weeks for best results.
4 . Oatmeal
A natural exfoliator that helps lightens skin and removes dead skin. Excessive scrubbing with oatmeal can cause damage to the epidermis and massaging gently with fingertips only is recommended.
-Mix powdered oatmeal with honey to make a thick paste. Apply this to the affected areas and leave on for 2-3 minutes. Gently massage the oatmeal for 5-7 minutes and wash with warm water.
-Ensure to apply moisturizer after to keep lock the moisture in.
