With our fast paced lifestyles and irregular eating patterns, most of us are prone to digestive problems. Ayurveda has been used since ages for overall health and wellness. We have compiled a list of easy to prepare Ayurvedic home remedies that you could try for improving your digestive health :
1 . Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
You may not know but Amla juice is very effective in relieving acidity and heartburn
How to take?
Take Amla juice (15-20ml). Add equal amount of water. Have this every morning on an empty stomach.
2 . Bael Sharbat (Wood apple Juice)
Bael is known for its soothing and cooling effect on stomach. It has lots of fiber and improves digestion.
How to take?
You can prepare Bel ka sharbat by using the ripe fruit and have it daily. All you need to do is break open a Bael and scoop out the pulp using a spoon. Soak the pulp in a cup of water for a few minutes and use your hands to blend the pulp. Strain water to remove the seeds and discard them. Blend the Bael pulp further into a smooth mixture. Add sugar or jaggery (gud) as per taste.
3 . Ghritkumari (Aloe Vera)
Aloe vera juice is extremely beneficial for people with irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux.
How to take?
Take aloe vera juice (1/4th cup) with water (1/2 cup) every day in the morning on an empty stomach.

4 . Chaach (Buttermilk)
Chaach is an effective home remedy for treating severe constipation, indigestion or acidity.
How to take?
Make it a habit to have a glass of buttermilk in the morning (empty stomach). You could also add triphala powder (1 teaspoon) to a glass of buttermilk and have it after meals.
5 . Isabgol ( Flea seeds)
Isabgol is used for regulating bowel movement and relieving constipation
How to take?
Mix 1 teaspoon of isabgol seeds in 1 glass of hot milk and drink this every night before going to bed.
6 . Triphala
Triphala is a mixture of 3 herbs: Hard (Haritaki), Amla and Bejada (Bibhitaki) and is great for improving digestive health and preventing constipation.
How to take?
Have one teaspoon of triphala every night before going to bed to regulate bowel movement and improve digestion.
