1 . Jaggery (gur) Drink
Our favorite desi ‘sweetener’ works wonders in curing both chronic and occasional occurrences of constipation. Mix a tablespoon of jaggery in a glass of warm water and gulp it down before going to bed. The high magnesium content of jaggery will ensure that your bowel movement is smooth and unhindered, the following morning.
2 . Lemon Juice
Before you hit the washroom, drink a glassful of water infused with lemon juice. It is a stimulant for your digestive system and prompts the body to get rid of toxins in every form and shape.
3 . Apple Juice
Dietary fiber has a major role in facilitating bowel movement through your gut. Apple juice is a rich source of dietary fiber and sipping the cold-pressed variety of it, throughout the day will ensure that constipation never bothers you.
4 . Baking Soda With Water
This is a home-made ready for many an ailment, especially those related to your stomach. Mix a teaspoonful of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it before bed. It will relieve gas and acidity, soften stool and ease its passage out of your body.
5 . Castor Oil
It is a very potent laxative and promotes normal bowel movement in a similar way to olive oil. Take two teaspoonful of castor oil before dozing off at night and you would wake up to a constipation-free self.
6 . Triphala Drink
Triphala is an Indian Ayurvedic remedy to cater to a whole host of health issues. Mix 2 teaspoons of triphala powder with a glass of water and drink on an empty stomach every morning. Its laxative properties help to relieve constipation related issues effectively.
