Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), is a condition that most commonly affects children but can reflect during the later years of adulthood as well. People with ADHD happen to be least organized and are often intimidated by the concept of de-cluttering. However, you can help yourself by breaking your tasks into smaller steps. Choose to follow a systematic process for everything you do.
2 . Plan Ahead
At workplace, follow a daily planner and reminders to avert any delays. With technological advancements all over the place, make sure you make the best use of your smartphone to put reminders. Get into a habit of planning for the day well in advance by prioritizing the list of tasks accordingly.
3 . Get Into The Habit Of Writing
Listing down the tasks will give you the privilege to strike off the tasks that have been done and do the rest that remains. It will help you plan and allocate a deadline for each of these enlisted tasks and therefore avoid delays. Writing down helps to stay attentive and never lets you forget things
4 . Manage Your Time
. People with ADHD are not very accurate with their estimation regarding the time spent for a task. However, do not panic. Instead allot yourself a buffer of 10-15 minutes and encourage yourself to meet the timelines. You can also use alarms to help you stay on time.
5 . Prioritize
People with ADHD often do not have a great impulse control and often jump from one work to another. This makes it difficult for them to achieve their goals.Pick the most important task and accomplish it. Take tasks one after the other.
6 . Strike Off Distractions
Make a conscious effort to strike off distractions and increase your attention span. To increase concentration and productivity, get rid of distractions for those set number of hours. Take short breaks, it shall help you feel fresh and focused and try and write what all you listen to.
7 . Eat Healthy
Make sure you stay away from unhealthy eating practices and include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Eat healthy by having a diet less in carbohydrates and high in proteins.
8. Practice Relaxation Techniques
In order to channelize your energy and utilize it in a positive way, make sure you exercise daily, spend time in the sunshine and try relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation and tai chi.
