Elderly people found to showcase better survival upon being treated by females physicians, study suggests
-In a study, conducted by University of Harvard, suggested that elderly people treated by female physicians showcased better survival rates compared to those treated by men physicians.
-The team of experts analysed the data from more than one million medicare beneficiaries (aged away 65 years) hospitalized with a health problem.
-As per the study, elderly people treated by female physicians were 4% less likely to die within 30 days of admission compared to those treated by males physician.
-Findings were published in JAMA Internal Medicine
