Having a diet rich in plant proteins may help you live longer, suggests a study.
-Research by Harvard’s Nurses Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, examined how plant and animal protein directly had an impact on the mortality rate.
-The study analysed data from 170,000 participants over a period of nearly three decades (1980-2016).
-The study suggested that people who consumed processed and unprocessed red meat were at an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
-On the contrary, ones who consumed plant based protein (from cereals, pasta, beans, nuts and legumes) were at a decreased risk of the disease.
