When monsoon knocks at the door it brings much relief from the scorching heat, however, it also welcomes a multitude of problems with it. Viral fever, skin rashes, blocked nose, cough, dandruff begin to affect us. However, there is a lot you can do at home to mend these monsoon maladies. 1 . Common Cold
-Mix 1-2g of black pepper powder with honey and take the decoction thrice daily to manage common cold.
-Get some turmeric fried and have this with hot water or honey.
-Chew 2-3 cloves(laung) fried in ghee to relieve symptoms of a cold.

2 . Sore Throat
-Boil some spinach leaves in water and gargle with hot spinach water. This is a good remedy for a sore throat.

3 . Eye Allergies
-Dip a cotton cloth in the ice cold water and apply it around the eyes for a few minutes to get relief from red eyes.
-Place sliced cucumber on your eyes, leave it for around 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse off your eyes to resolve eye redness, irritation, and inflammation.
4 . Rashes and Other Skin Problems
-Apply a mixture of tea tree oil and coconut oil to get rid of rashes and pimples.
-Apply aloe vera gel as it is beneficial curing agent for skin diseases caused by rain.
-Mix watermelon with milk powder and apply it on the skin during monsoon to cool the skin and stay away from rashes.

5 . Itchy Scalp
-Rub sour curd with salt into the hair and wash after 15-20 minutes. This will help to soothe your scalp and also get rid of dandruff.
-Make a paste of poppy (khuskhus) seeds with milk; apply it to the hair root, wash off with water after half an hour. Mild shampoo may be used thereafter. Do this twice a week to get rid of dandruff.

6 .Blocked Sinuses
-Have ginger tea 2-3 times a day. Ginger helps to block the production of substances that cause bronchial congestion and stuffiness and it contains compounds called gingerols, which are natural cough suppressants.
-Soak your feet in a mustard footbath. Add 1 tablespoon of mustard powder per litre of hot water in a large bowl. The mustard draws blood to your feet, which helps to relieve congestion.
