Recent research suggests that people who drink atleast a cup of tea everyday were at a decreased risk of cardiovascular diseases compared to those who did not.
-In a study, where data from about 6,508 middle-aged and older adults, devoid of any heart disease was collated. Of the total subjects, only 13% reported of having only one cup of tea everyday whereas 51% reported of consuming a cup or more of coffee each day.
-Findings from a follow-up of about 11 years, suggested that people who consumed only tea had a slower progression of plaque deposition in their arteries compared to the others who drank coffee or other drinks.
-People who consumed tea were at 29% lower risk of a heart attack, stroke or death due to heart disease.
-Findings were published in The American Journal of Medicine
