Have home cooked meals and avoid watching TV during meals to reduce the risk of obesity, study reveals.
-In a recent study, conducted by Ohio State University (US), it was observed that people who do not watch TV during meals and stick to home-made meals were at a decreased risk of obesity.
-As per study, a person would be considered to be obese if his/her body mass index (BMI) would be 30 or more than that.
-As per the study, about 12,842 people ate atleast one single meal with their family through out the day.
-The study suggested that the number of meals consumed with the respective families is not as important as how those meals were being taken suggesting that people who had all home-cooked meals also had lower odds of obesity than other adults who did not.
-Findings were published in Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
