People who stay closer to trees and green spaces are less likely to be obese, inactive and depressed, study reveals
-In a recent study, the researchers from the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), reviewed more than 200 academic studies to understand the effect of nature on the overall health and lifestyle of people.
-As per the study, the middle Scottish men who lived in verdant areas were found to have a death rate 16% lower than their urban counterparts.
-Another research in Bradford suggested that pregnant women who stayed close to nature in greener environment recorded lower blood pressures and gave birth to healthier babies.
-The findings revealed that an individual’s access to nature improved their overall performance and kept them away from depression and sadness.
-Another study also revealed that patients admitted to hospital rooms with tree views from the windows were discharged earlier than those who were devoid of a scenic view.
