The monsoon season can bring heavy rain and unfortunately, an increase in mosquitos that spread dengue. Here are some simple ways to stay safe from dengue during this time:

Empty and clean water storage containers like drums and tanks. Make sure they have tight lids to prevent mosquitoes from entering.

Apply mosquito repellents containing DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus to exposed skin and clothing. Follow the instructions on the label carefully.

Use mosquito nets while sleeping, especially for children.

Regularly remove any trash or debris that could hold water.
