Winter is here, and so is the season of sniffles. But is it a cold or just allergies? While both can have overlapping symptoms, they have very different causes.

Colds can strike anytime, though they're more common in winter. Allergies, however, can occur year-round whenever allergens are present specially spring and summer season.

With colds, symptoms appear a few days after exposure to the virus. While allergies start immediately after exposure to allergens.

Colds may bring body aches and a low-grade fever, but allergies never cause these symptoms.

Body Aches & Fever

Both can cause a cough and runny nose, but colds often lead to sore throats, while allergies are more likely to cause itchy eyes.
