Fatigue is a common side effect of antibiotics, as they can disrupt the gut microbiome. This disruption may lead to digestive issues like bloating, diarrhea, or constipation, which in turn contribute to feelings of tiredness.

For most people, fatigue caused by antibiotics is temporary. Once the medication is completed and the body adjusts, energy levels typically return to normal .
