Dengue fever cases are rising in Karnataka, with 25,408 reported cases and 12 deaths. The state has declared it an epidemic & is implementing strict measures to control the outbreak.

Dengue is a viral illness transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. It causes flu-like symptoms and can lead to severe conditions if not treated promptly.

Symptoms include sudden high fever, severe headaches, pain behind the eyes, joint and muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and a skin rash.

To prevent dengue, use mosquito repellents, wear long-sleeved clothing, & avoid mosquito-prone areas. Remove standing water around your home.

There's no specific treatment for dengue. Stay hydrated, rest, and use paracetamol for fever and pain relief.

If symptoms worsen or severe dengue signs like bleeding occur, seek immediate medical attention. Hospitalization may be required for severe cases.
