Individual fitness varies a lot. Thus some people may begin with 5,000 steps while gradually working up & others may more towards 7K.

Walking is all about its intensity & time. Even if walking is less than 10K steps in total having a brisk walk of around 100 steps per minute can have great health benefits.​

You must listen to your body because injury is a real risk when you push too hard. Create goals that are attainable & in harmony with your health status & fitness levels.

While 10K steps a day is a worthy aim, it should not be a definitive target for everyone. Instead, you should lower your sights to approximately 7,000 steps per day, relative to your own ability & health goal.
