Healthy soup recipe during cold and cough

This nourishing soup is perfect for soothing a sore throat, easing congestion, during a cold or cough.

For this healthy soup, you'll need olive oil, onion, garlic, ginger, carrot, celery, potato, spinach or kale (optional), vegetable or chicken broth, turmeric powder, black pepper, salt, lemon juice (optional), and honey (optional).

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.

Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Add the chopped carrots, celery, and potato to the pot. Stir for a few minutes.

Add the broth, turmeric powder, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

For a smooth texture, blend the soup using a regular blender.

If using spinach, stir it into the soup and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes until wilted (cooked).

Stir in lemon juice and honey for extra soothing effects.
