Here's a simple recipe for homemade cough syrup using honey, lemon, and ginger.

1 cup of honey, 1 lemon, 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root.

Get the ingredients ready by peeling and grating the ginger. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.

In a small saucepan, mix honey, grated ginger, and lemon juice.

Heat the ginger & lemon over low heat, stirring continuously. Be careful not to boil it, do not heat honey.

Simmer the mixture for about 5-10 minutes.This helps to infuse the flavors and let the ingredients blend well.

Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Once cooled, add honey mix well and strain the syrup to remove the ginger.

Take 1-2 teaspoons of this natural elixir as needed. You can take it straight or mix it with warm water or tea.

Transfer the mixture to a clean, airtight container. Store it in the refrigerator for a longer shelf life.
