Heartburn typically causes a burning sensation in the chest, often after eating or lying down. It’s usually accompanied by a sour taste in the mouth and can be relieved with antacids.

Heart attack pain often feels like intense pressure in the chest, and may spread to the arm, neck, or jaw. It is usually accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating, or nausea.

Heartburn discomfort is often relieved with antacids or after a short period, while heart attack pain tends to last longer & intensifies with physical activity.

Heartburn is usually linked to meals, while heart attack pain may occur suddenly, even at rest. If you experience dizziness, cold sweats, or lightheadedness, it may indicate a heart attack.
