Yoga twice a week found to benefit people undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, study reveals
-A recent study, conducted by Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, studied the effect of regular yoga on the life of patients suffering from prostate cancer
-The study included men who were undergoing cancer radiation treatment (almost 6-9 weeks) for the treatment of prostate cancer.
-The participants were randomized in two groups, one where the participants attended yoga classes twice in a week and the other group that acted as control. Patients who already practiced yoga on their own were not considered for the study.
-The 75 minute yoga session included breathing, centering techniques and ended with Savanas (yoga pose).
-As per the study, men who practiced yoga reported less fatigue and better urinary and sexual function compared to those who did not.
