These are a group of medications used in the treatment of schizophrenia (a mental disorder with unreal thoughts and behavior). They work by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers in the brain. Some of these medicines may also be prescribed for other behavioral problems such as mania, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. These medicines may be used alone or in combination.
