Obinutuzumab is used in the treatment of blood cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia).

How Obinutuzumab works

Obinutuzumab works by recognizing and attaching to specific proteins (namely CD20) on leukemia cells and some healthy blood cells. It destroys leukemia cells directly or with the help of the immune system.

Nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), Upper respiratory tract infection, Rash, Flu, Dermatitis, Bronchitis (inflammation of the airways), Eczema, Swelling of lymph nodes, Oropharyngeal pain

  • Avoid taking any other vaccines without consulting your doctor.
  • It can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down for a long time.
  • Avoid breastfeeding while taking Obinutuzumab and for six months after its last dose.
  • Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during and for six months after the treatment with this medicine.
