Frequently asked questions for Ripasudil + Timolol

Ripasudil + Timolol

Q. What is the right way to use Ripasudil+Timolol?

Always wash your hands before (and after) using Ripasudil+Timolol. This prevents you from passing the infection from one eye to the other. Remove the cap just before using your medicine and replace it as soon as you have finished. Avoid touching the nozzle of the bottle with your fingers. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid with a clean finger. Hold the bottle over the eye and allow a single drop to fall into the space between your lower lid and your eye. Close your eye and gently press your finger over the inside corner of the eye (over the eyelid) for about a minute. This helps prevent the drop from draining out of the eye. Repeat in your other eye if your doctor has told you to do this.

Q. How many times should I use Ripasudil+Timolol in a day?

Ideally, you should use one drop in each eye, two times a day or as prescribed by your doctor.

Q. Does Ripasudil+Timolol cause blurred vision?

When you instil the eye drops for the first time, it can make your eyes watery and may sometimes also cause blurred vision. If this happens, it will clear quickly. Make sure you can see clearly again before you drive, or use tools or machines.

Q. I am experiencing a headache after starting the treatment with Ripasudil+Timolol. Is this normal?

Although rare, headache is one of the side effects of Ripasudil+Timolol. You may ask your doctor to recommend a suitable painkiller. If the headache continues, consult with the doctor.

Q. When should I seek a doctor’s advice?

You should contact your doctor immediately if you develop swelling in the eyelids, eye pain, dry eye(s), foreign body sensation in the eyes, headache, and discharge from the eyes. Also, inform them if you had or have any scheduled eye surgery.

Q. Can I use Ripasudil+Timolol if I wear contact lenses?

If you usually wear contact lenses, do not wear them while you're using Ripasudil+Timolol. You can re-insert the lenses 15 minutes after using Ripasudil+Timolol. Contact your doctor if there is any eye irritation that persists.

Q. Can I use any other eye drops along with Ripasudil+Timolol?

Always consult your doctor before using any other eye drops along with Ripasudil+Timolol. It is advisable to give a gap of at least 10-15 minutes between the two medications.

Q. In which conditions the use of Ripasudil+Timolol should be avoided?

Use of Ripasudil+Timolol should be avoided in patients who are allergic to it or any of its components. However, if you are not aware of any allergy, or if you are using this medicine for the first time, consult your doctor.
