How Selexipag works
Selexipag acts on the blood vessels in lungs in a similar way to the natural substance prostacyclin, helping them to relax and widen. This makes it easier for the heart to pump blood through these blood vessels.

Selexipag is used to treat symptoms of pulmonary arterial hypertension, which is high blood pressure in the blood vessel that carries blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs.
Selexipag is an oral tablet given by mouth. The starting dose is 200 mcg twice daily. The dose is then increased by 200 mcg twice daily every week to the highest tolerated dose a patient can tolerate. The maximum dosage is 1600 mcg twice daily.
Swallow Selexipag tablet as a whole. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If your next scheduled dose is due within six hours, skip the missed dose.
Before you take Selexipag, tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including if you:
a. Have liver problems.
b. Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan to breastfeed.
c. Are taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, or herbal supplements.
