MRI Left Hand (MRI)
The MRI of the left hand is an imaging technique that helps to visualise the bones and the joints present in the left hand. The surrounding soft tissue is pictured to check for abnormal growths, deformities and lesions. It helps to identify any underlying disease of the soft tissue, blood vessels or bones. MRI of the hand is particularly useful to check for fractures of the bones of the hand. Age related changes pertaining to the wrist bones or dislocation of joints in the hand are also detected.
The MRI is a safe procedure. It can take from ten minutes to two hours. Patients with a pacemaker or certain implants cannot get an MRI done as the metal may obstruct the radio signal and cause harm to the patient. The patient might have a dizzy sensation after the scan.
