MRI Triple Phase Liver (MRI)

The MRI triple-phase liver scan is used to obtain pictures of the liver and its surrounding soft tissues. The first phase is without the contrast dye (native). In the second phase, contrast is injected, and arteries are visualized. In the third phase, the contrast is flushed out of the portal veins and helps to visualize the veins.

This MRI examines the physiology of the liver to determine whether there are any liver abnormalities or the existence of any liver tumours (growth/cancer). The scan is achievable at the exact MRI dosage as a typical single-phase, delivers better picture quality, and utilizes less than half the contrast material dose.
