Nisoth, also known as Indian jalap, is a medicinal herb having various health benefits. There are two varieties of the plant (black and white), and dried roots of the white variety are mostly used for its medicinal properties.
As per Ayurveda, Nisoth is useful in the management of constipation. Nisoth churna promotes bowel movements when taken with warm water due to its Rechna (laxative) property.
