Alcarex KT Eye Drop is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and redness. It also relieves redness, swelling, and pain.

Alcarex KT Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Use it in the exact dose as prescribed by the doctor or as instructed in the label.

Use of this medicine may cause burning sensation, stinging, and irritation at the application site. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.

Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. How Alcarex KT Eye Drop works

Alcarex KT Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines. Alcaftadine is an antihistaminic medication. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and redness by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger (histamine) in the body. Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). This is how Alcarex KT Eye Drop works to treat allergic conjunctivitis.

Quick tips

  • Alcarex KT Eye Drop is prescribed for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.
  • Alcarex KT Eye Drop should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • Wash your hands first before applying Alcarex KT Eye Drop. Do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination,
  • After applying Alcarex KT Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses till your symptoms are completely gone.
  • Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this. 
  • Along with using Alcarex KT Eye Drop, give warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
  • Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
