Allegra-D Tablet ER is an anti-allergy medicine used in the treatment of allergic symptoms such as runny nose, congestion or stuffiness, sneezing, itching, swelling, and watery eyes. It also helps treat skin allergies with itching, redness, or swelling.

Allegra-D Tablet ER may be taken with or without food, in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Take it as and when necessary as prescribed by the doctor.

The most common side effects of this medicine are headache, insomnia, nausea, dizziness, agitation, dry mouth, dyspepsia, and palpitation. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Please consult your doctor if any of these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Do not self-medicate or recommend your medicine to another person even if you see the similarity in symptoms. Consult your doctor to get the most benefit. Allegra-D Tablet ER is effective in treating allergic skin conditions with inflammation and itching such as hives. It reduces the redness, rash, pain, or itchiness caused by your skin’s reaction to an irritant or allergen that may be causing the symptoms. You may only need to take Allegra-D Tablet ER on a day you have symptoms or on a regular basis when allergens are most prevalent. Consult with your doctor to get maximum benefits.

In Treatment of Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies

Allegra-D Tablet ER provides relief from symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. It rarely has any serious side effects and you may only need to take it on days you have symptoms. If you are taking it to prevent getting symptoms you should use it regularly to get the most benefit.

How to use Allegra-D Tablet ER

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Allegra-D Tablet ER may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Allegra-D Tablet ER works

Allegra-D Tablet ER contains two medications. Fexofenadine blocks the effects of a chemical called histamine, which is responsible for causing allergic symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling, and irritation. Pseudoephedrine works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in your nose. This helps mucus and air flow more freely in the cavities in your nose (sinuses), helping you to breathe more easily.

What if you forget to take Allegra-D Tablet ER?

If you miss a dose of Allegra-D Tablet ER, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

For cough, cold -- Prevent dehydration. Fluids may help thin secretions and soothe an irritated throat. Dry, hacking coughs respond to honey in hot water, tea, or lemon juice. Drink plenty of fluids to replace those lost from sweating and having a runny nose, get plenty of rest, eat healthily ? a low-fat, high-fibre diet is recommended, including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. OTC drugs, gargling with salt water and sucking on menthol sweets can help relieve a sore throat and blocked nose, are generally safe for older children and adults to take, but might not be suitable for babies, young children. Avoid applying Vicks VapoRub to babies and toddlers.You should never give children under 4 years of age over-the-counter cough and cold products without checking with your child's doctor. These medicines may harm young children. There are many underlying causes of Patient?s symptoms. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Final and perfect diagnosis cannot be done without doing clinical examination of patient. Please consult me or any other Paediatrician. will take detail history and will examine patient in detail. All information will be used to determine exact underlying cause of problem. Depending upon cause will prescribe you treatment.
