Assurance 20mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure in the blood vessels that supply the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It relieves breathlessness and improves exercise capacity in men and women. This slows down the progression of your illness.

Assurance 20mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors. It may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal, but it should be taken at a fixed time each day. The dose and how often you need to take it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. Follow the advice of your doctor. It is important to take this medicine regularly and for as long as you are advised, even if you feel well. Missing doses may lead to the worsening of your condition.

The most common side effects of this medicine include flushing, headache, upset stomach, muscle pain, inflammation of nasal lining, diarrhea, and inflammation of sinus. Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Assurance 20mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Assurance 20mg Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. A lowering of dose may be considered if it is not well-tolerated.

Liver

CAUTION

Assurance 20mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Assurance 20mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Assurance 20mg Tablet in patients with severe liver disease.

What if you forget to take Assurance Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Assurance 20mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

So, when used with blood pressure lowering medicines or nitrates, it can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, which could be fatal. Assurance 20mg Tablet should not be taken if you are taking nitrates for chest pain or you have a history of heart attack or stroke in the past 6 months.
