Axicold NL Tablet


Product introduction

Axicold NL Tablet helps in the treatment of common cold symptoms. It relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, inflammation, and fever.

Axicold NL Tablet may be prescribed alone or in combination with another medicine. You should take it regularly as advised by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. Do not take more or use it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Using of this medicine may cause some common side effects such as dryness in mouth, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and restlessness. If any of these side effects bother you or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help you with ways to reduce or prevent them.

The medicine may not be suitable for everybody. Before taking it, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions or disorders. Let your doctor also know all the other medicines you are taking to make sure it is safe. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors first before using the medicine.


Note: As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Axicold NL Tablet is banned for children under 12 years of age.

Axicold NL Tablet is a combination medicine that effectively relieves symptoms of the common cold, such as a blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It helps loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It also shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours. These actions make breathing easier.

Axicold NL Tablet is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes, and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop using it unless you are advised otherwise.

Side effects of Axicold NL Tablet

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How Axicold NL Tablet works

Axicold NL Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Nimesulide, Levocetirizine, Phenylephrine and Caffeine which relieve common cold symptoms. Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Caffeine is a stimulant which decreases sleepiness caused by Levocetirizine.

Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Axicold NL Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Axicold NL Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Axicold NL Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
CAUTION
Axicold NL Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Axicold NL Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Axicold NL Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
UNSAFE
Axicold NL Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

What if you forget to take Axicold NL Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Axicold NL Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Quick tips

    4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
    5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcases, etc.
