Your child’s medicine at a glance
Dysvon M Liquid is used to relieve migraine headaches and to treat nausea and vomiting associated with it. This medicine may also be used in ailments where fever is accompanied by vomiting.
You can give it either before or after meals. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by your doctor as that depends on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, and age. In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, let the child calm down, and then repeat the dose.
Dysvon M Liquid should be given at the first sign of a migraine attack. If symptoms persist, further doses may be given but a gap of 4 hours must be maintained between each dose. However, never exceed the total dose that has been prescribed for a day.
Diarrhea, rash, restlessness, and drowsiness are some of the common yet temporary side effects of this medicine. Make sure to report to your child’s doctor if the side effects persist or become bothersome for your child.

How Dysvon M Liquid works
Dysvon M Liquid contains two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is an antiemetic that works on the vomiting center in the brain. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraines. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause the pain associated with migraine.

What if I forget to give Dysvon M Liquid to my child?
Do not panic. Unless your doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Dysvon M Liquid contains metoclopramide which can make your child dizzy and sleepy. Avoid giving Dysvon M Liquid before a task that requires mental focus such as running, jogging or cycling, or any other sports activity.
What are the serious side effects of Dysvon M Liquid?
Dysvon M Liquid can take entry in the brain and can cause serious side effects in your child. These effects may include muscle spasms (especially of the head, face, and neck), trembling and shaking of the hands, jerky movements of arms, legs, or eyes. Children who are malnourished, suffering from a liver or a kidney disease, heart disease, and electrolyte disturbances should remain cautious before taking Dysvon M Liquid. Also, children on antipsychotic medicines and those who have a history of atopic allergies such as hay fever, eczema, or asthma should consult the doctor before consuming Dysvon M Liquid. Always, consult your child’s doctor before giving Dysvon M Liquid in such cases.
What if I give an excess of Dysvon M Liquid to my child by mistake?
Excess intake of Dysvon M Liquid is dangerous as it contains paracetamol which can cause serious liver damage (hepatotoxicity) and CNS side effects. Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child as it will not give fast relief rather it would result in serious adverse effects and can worsen your child’s condition.

Keep this medicine at room temperature in a dry place beyond the reach of the children.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Dysvon M Liquid?
