Forcan Plus Infusion belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungus and is used to treat infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.
Forcan Plus Infusion is administered as a drip by a doctor or a nurse. You should not self-administer this medicine at home. Get the injection regularly to get the most benefit from it. You should not stop getting the injection before the full source is completed. If you stop treatment too early, the infection may return and if you miss doses you can increase your risk of infections that are resistant to further treatment.
The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, rash, diarrhea, and vomiting. You could ask your doctor about ways of preventing or reducing these effects. It is used for the treatment of many fungal infections like Cryptococcal meningitis (fungal infection in the brain) and Coccidioidomycosis (a disease of the lungs). Additionally, it is helpful in the treatment of infections caused by Candida found in the bloodstream, body organs (e.g., heart, lungs) or urinary tract, mucosal thrush (infection affecting the lining of the mouth, throat, and denture sore mouth), and genital thrush (infection of the vagina or penis). It can also be used to treat skin infections like athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, nail infection.
Can Forcan Plus Infusion be taken with oral contraceptives (OCPs) or birth control pills?
Forcan Plus Infusion has been reported to have a minor interaction when taken with estradiol (a component of oral contraceptives).
