Magcaine Injection is a local anesthetic. It is used to numb tissues in a specific area. It decreases the pain sensation by blocking the pain signals from the nerves to the brain.

This medicine may cause few common side effects such as pale colored skin, burning sensation, stinging sensation, erythema, itching. How Magcaine Injection works
Magcaine Injection is a combination of five medicines: Lidocaine, Adrenaline, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Metabisulphite and Methylparaben. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases the pain sensation. Adrenaline is a vasoconstrictor which narrows the blood vessels to prolong the action of Lidocaine. This also controls bleeding during the procedure and minimizes side effects of Lidocaine. Sodium Chloride is a purified salt solution which helps prevent edema (swelling) and discomfort on injection. Sodium Metabisulphite and Methylparaben are preservatives.
