Meftagesic Syrup contains two active ingredients both of which belong to a common class of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It helps to lower body temperature (fever) and reduce pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) both in infants and children.

Adhere to the prescribed dose, time, and way while giving Meftagesic Syrup to your child. Give it orally, preferably at a fixed time. It can be given before or after food, but giving it after food helps prevent the chance of developing an upset stomach. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again. Avoid giving more than the recommended dose for fast relief as that may cause unwanted effects in your child.

Some children develop certain mild side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, and diarrhea after taking this medicine. In case your child develops these side effects, do not worry as these are mostly temporary and resolve on their own. But, if these effects persist or become bothersome for your child, do consult your child’s doctor on a priority basis.

What if you forget to take Meftagesic Syrup?

Do not panic. Give the missed as soon as you remember. However, you should skip the missed dose if it is already time for the next dose or if your child’s doctor has asked you not to make up for missed doses. Never give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Monitor temp . Place a cool, damp washcloth on your child's forehead , Give your child a lukewarm tub bath or a sponge bath. Give a sponge bath as follows:- ? Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)] . Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one. My child is taking Meftagesic Syrup for toothache and now has to undergo an extraction procedure. Should I continue giving Meftagesic Syrup?
