Metopar Suspension is used to relieve migraine headaches and to treat nausea and vomiting associated with it. This medicine may also be used in ailments where fever is accompanied by vomiting.
You can give it either before or after meals. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by your doctor as that depends on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, and age. In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, let the child calm down, and then repeat the dose.
Metopar Suspension should be given at the first sign of a migraine attack. If symptoms persist, further doses may be given but a gap of 4 hours must be maintained between each dose. However, never exceed the total dose that has been prescribed for a day.

How Metopar Suspension works
Metopar Suspension contains two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is an antiemetic that works on the vomiting center in the brain. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraines. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause the pain associated with migraine.

What if I forget to give Metopar Suspension to my child?
Do not panic. Unless your doctor has advised a specific regime for your child, you can give the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.
