Uses of Minosta Tablet

Benefits of Minosta Tablet

Treatment and prevention of Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a common condition that causes bones to become fragile and brittle so that they break (fracture) more easily. Fractures may be painful and restrict a person’s ability to carry out their normal daily tasks. Minosta Tablet helps in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis. This medicine helps in the growth and development of bones as well as maintain strong bones. Since osteoporosis doesn’t usually have any symptoms such as pain (until a fracture occurs) you might not ‘feel’ any immediate benefit from your treatment with Minosta Tablet. Keep taking it until your doctor asks you to stop. Along with medicines, eat a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D like dairy products, green leafy vegetables etc.
Treatment of Calcium deficiency
Minosta Tablet is a nutritional supplement that is used to prevent or treat low blood calcium levels in people who do not get enough calcium from their diets. It improves the level of calcium in the body. This helps keep your bones strong and healthy and reduce the risk of any bone disorders like osteoporosis. Calcium is also necessary for normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscle and heart.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Minosta Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Minosta Tablet works

Minosta Tablet is a combination of Calcitriol, Calcium Carbonate, and Vitamin K2-7. Calcitriol is the active form of Vitamin D. It raises Vitamin D levels in your blood. This in turn raises calcium levels in your blood by helping you absorb more calcium from your intestine. Calcium carbonate is a dietary supplement used when the amount of calcium taken in the diet is not enough. Vitamin K2-7 plays a central role in the metabolism of calcium, the main mineral found in your bones and teeth. Vitamin K2-7 activates the calcium-binding actions of two proteins : matrix GLA protein and osteocalcin, which help to build and maintain bone health.

Quick tips

  • Minosta Tablet is used in the treatment of calcium deficiency.

  • Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications like for bone disorders, antihypertensives, antibiotics, antacids, other calcium supplements, or medicines for heart disease.
  • Inform your doctor if you are taking an iron supplement, as the absorption rate might be affected.

Frequently asked questions

Minosta Tablet is used to treat calcium deficiency. It works by increasing vitamin D levels in the body, which helps improve calcium absorption and raise calcium levels in the blood. It also helps in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
Individuals should not take Minosta Tablet if they have hypercalcemia (too much calcium in the blood), vitamin D toxicity (too much vitamin D in the body), or if they are on blood thinners like warfarin (because vitamin K2 can block warfarin’s effect).
Reach out to your doctor immediately if you develop signs of high calcium, such as severe nausea, vomiting, belly pain, constipation, extreme thirst, frequent urination, confusion, unusual tiredness or weakness, or an uneven heartbeat (abnormal heart rhythm).
Yes. Too much Minosta Tablet for a long time can cause kidney stones (hard mineral lumps) or calcium build‑up in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis). Doctors may check your blood and urine calcium regularly.
You will need close monitoring while taking Minosta Tablet if you have kidney problems or are on dialysis. Calcitriol (active vitamin D) in this medicine can raise phosphorus levels, so doctors may add phosphate binders (medicines that trap phosphorus) and perform regular blood tests to keep levels safe.
Minosta Tablet has not been proven safe or effective in children. Older adults (seniors) often start at the lower dose range because they may have weaker kidneys, liver, or heart, and they may take several other medicines.
