Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Lowering the blood pressure helps to prevent future stroke and heart attack.

Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. You can take it at any time of day but try to take it at the same time each day. You should take this medicine as advised by the doctor and never stop it abruptly without consulting the doctor. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This may lead to your blood pressure rising up again and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.

It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly. This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to reduce your salt intake.

Common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and back pain. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you.

Before taking this medicine, its better to let your doctor know if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Also, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult doctor before taking it.

What if you forget to take Moxidip Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.\n

Can I stop Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet if my blood pressure is controlled?

Do not stop taking Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet without talking to your doctor, even if you feel fine or your blood pressure is controlled. Suddenly stopping the medicine may cause serious changes in your blood pressure. If required, your doctor will slowly reduce the dose over 2 weeks.

When can I take Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet?

In case you are prescribed a single lowest dose of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet, you can take it in the morning. On the other hand, if divided doses are to be taken, one dose can be taken in the morning and the other in the evening.

How should I take Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet?

You should take Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take it as a whole (without crushing or chewing it) with sufficient amount of water. It can be taken before, during or after meals, as food does not affect the working of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet.

Who should not take Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet?

You should not take Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet if you are allergic to it or have heart function insufficiency. Prefer not to use the medicine if you have a slow heart rate (below 50 beats/minute at rest) or suffer from an abnormal heart rhythm or a change in the rate of the heartbeat (called sick-sinus syndrome or second or third degree AV-block).

What are the symptoms of overdose of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet?

Symptoms of overdose of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet include headache, feeling sleepy, fall in blood pressure, feeling dizzy, unusual weakness, and slow heart rate. The other symptoms can be dry mouth, being sick, feeling tired, and abdominal pain. In case of overdose contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency department immediately.

Can I take atenolol with Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet?

You can take atenolol along with Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet but inform your doctor that you are taking atenolol also. Also, if you plan to stop Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet, stop taking atenolol few days before you stop Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet. This is because stopping both treatments at the same time could result in an increased blood pressure.

Can Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet affect my sleep?

Sleep disturbance is a common side effect of Moxidip 0.3mg Tablet. This tends to be mild and settles down soon. Other common side effects may include headache, dizziness, vertigo (a spinning sensation), and sleepiness. Contact your doctor if these effects persist or worry you.
