Your child’s medicine at a glance
Myflox MD Suspension is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. This medicine is also given as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis.
Give Myflox MD Suspension to your child orally, preferably at a fixed time, either before or after meals. In case your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with meals. Generally, this medicine is prescribed to be given two times a day, in the morning and evening. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double the dose if it is time for the next dose. Never change the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor since these depend upon the type and severity of the infection, your child’s age, and body weight.
In some cases, this medicine may cause some minor and temporary side effects, including nausea, vomiting, weight loss, metallic taste, headache, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, and mild skin rash. These side effects are temporary and recede when your child gets used to the medicine. In case the side effects persist or start bothering your child, consult your child’s doctor without any delay.
Narrate your child’s complete medical history to your child’s doctor, including any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This information is critical for dose alterations and for planning your child’s overall treatment.

How Myflox MD Suspension works
Myflox MD Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.
