Nefacool Eye Drops is a combination medication used to treat allergic eye disease. It provides relief from red, itchy, watery eyes. It also reduces the redness and inflammation of eyes.
Always wash your hands before using Nefacool Eye Drops. Use only the number of drops that your doctor has prescribed. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using the drops and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. If you’re also using other eye medicines, wait for at least 10 minutes before using it. Read the leaflet that comes with the medicine for a full guide on how to use the drops and get the most benefit. Don’t touch the tip of the dropper or bottle. This may lead to infection. You should use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit and it’s best done at the same time(s) each day. If you want to stop using it, consult your doctor first.
The most common side effects include burning sensation and stinging in the eyes. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor. They may be able to tell you ways of reducing or preventing some side effects or suggest another treatment.
Ask your doctor whether it’s safe to take this medicine if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.
How Nefacool Ophthalmic Solution works
Nefacool Eye Drops is a combination of three medicines: Naphazoline, Chlorpheniramine and Methylcellulose. Naphazoline is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels in the eye, thereby reducing redness and inflammation (swelling). Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for red, itchy, teary eyes. Methylcellulose is a lubricant similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness in the eye.

Quick tips
Nefacool Eye Drops provides soothing relief from eye irritation due to allergy.
It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
After applying Nefacool Eye Drops, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
Avoid wearing contact lenses until your doctor advises you that it is suitable for you to wear your lenses again.
