Nodosis Oral Suspension is an antacid used in the treatment of indigestion, metabolic acidosis and used as an alkalinizing agent. It acts as a buffer that helps neutralize excess acid and restore a healthier pH level in the body.
Nodosis Oral Suspension relieves irritation by producing carbon dioxide which neutralizes the acid present in the stomach. It also increases the pH of blood and urine, thereby correcting acid indigestion, heartburn. Additionally, it helps in the removal of toxic substances from the body in certain types of poisoning.
Nodosis Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Excessive intake may cause electrolyte imbalance leading to unwanted side effects. Keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen.
Common side effects of this medicine include high sodium levels, cerebral edema, alkalosis, and hypokalemia. Let your doctor know if any of these side effects persist or get worse. They may be able to help by adjusting the dosage or by prescribing you an alternate medicine.
It is important to consult a doctor before taking Nodosis Oral Suspension if you are suffering from stomach and kidney disease. Let your doctor also know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
Indigestion is a feeling of discomfort or a burning sensation in the upper part of your stomach. It also causes stomach pain and a feeling of fullness. Nodosis Oral Suspension treats indigestion and thus gives relief from its symptoms by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. Nodosis Oral Suspension also gives relief from excess gas by breaking trapped gas and allows its easy passage. Take Nodosis Oral Suspension as prescribed by the doctor. Think about what foods trigger indigestion and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight, and try to find ways to relax. Avoid eating within 3-4 hours of going to bed.
In Treatment of Alkalinizing agent
Alkalinizing agents are medicines used to manage disorders associated with low pH. Nodosis Oral Suspension is used to treat metabolic acidosis (a condition where there is too much acid in the body) due to kidney failure. It helps restore the lost electrolyte balance and raises the pH of the urine and blood. This prevents complications that may arise due to metabolic acidosis such as osteoporosis, kidney damage, weakening of muscles, fatigue etc. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit.
In Treatment of Metabolic acidosis
Metabolic acidosis occurs when the body accumulates too much acid or loses too much base, leading to a disrupted pH level. Nodosis Oral Suspension acts as a buffer that helps neutralize excess acid and restore a healthier pH level. This prevents further complications related to the acidosis, such as organ dysfunction and electrolyte imbalances. This way it supports the proper functioning of various bodily systems and promotes overall health.

How Nodosis Oral Suspension works
Nodosis Oral Suspension works primarily by providing a source of bicarbonate ions to the body. Nodosis Oral Suspension neutralizes the acidity in stomach, providing relief from the discomfort of acid reflux or heartburn. It can help temporarily increase the pH of the blood, making it less acidic. This property can be useful in certain medical situations, such as metabolic acidosis, where the body becomes too acidic due to conditions like kidney dysfunction or severe dehydration. Nodosis Oral Suspension may also help in cases where the urine needs to be less acidic, such as when trying to promote the excretion of certain drugs or when managing certain urinary tract conditions.
