Product introduction

Procoat 2% Injection is a medicine used for treatment of pain due to osteoarthritis. This medicine is commonly given when when a patient does not respond to other conventional treatments. It reduces the friction in the joints and decreases the pain and swelling.

Procoat 2% Injection is administered by intra‐articular injection. Intra‐articular injection is given by inserting a needle into the space in the knee joint that contains fluid used for lubrication and cushioning. it should not be self-administered as it can be only administered by a qualified doctor. While on treatment with this medicine, you should avoid activities such as strenuous sports and exercise, or standing on your feet for a long time.

Some common side effects of this medicine include injection site reactions (such as pain, swelling, and redness), muscle pain, and joint pain. If these side effects do no resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help with ways to reduce or prevent these symptoms by prescribing you alternative medicine or adjusting the dose.

You should not take this medicine if you have a knee joint infection or skin disease, or infection  around the area where the injection will be given. To make sure the medicine is safe for you, let your doctor know if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver. You should also let your doctor know all the other medicines you are taking before using this medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor first before taking this medicine.

Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes pain and swelling in the joints of your hands, knees, hips and spine. Procoat 2% Injection is most commonly used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. Procoat 2% Injection helps restore the synovial fluid which helps in lubricating and cushioning the joint during movement. This way it restores the mobility and reduce the pain. Mild symptoms of osteoarthritis can sometimes be managed by doing light exercises, losing weight and suitable footwear.

What if you forget to take Procoat Injection?
