Sinovil Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to treat common cold symptoms. It provides relief from symptoms like a runny or blocked nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and fever. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain, and inflammation.

Sinovil Tablet should be taken with food, to avoid stomach upset.  It is advised to take this medicine at a fixed time each day to maintain a consistent level in the blood. If you miss any doses, take it as soon as you remember. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, restlessness, and heartburn. If any of these side effects bother you or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may help you with ways to reduce or prevent them. It is advisable to avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

It helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes it easier for air to move in and out. It shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours.

This medicine is safe and effective. Sinovil Tablet usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor. Taking this medicine enables you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.

How Sinovil Tablet works

Sinovil Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ibuprofen and Pseudoephedrine which relieve common cold symptoms. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

What if you forget to take Sinovil Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Sinovil Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Quick tips

  • Sinovil Tablet is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold.
  • Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment.

  • Along with taking Sinovil Tablet do the following simple tips at home to get relief:
    1. Steam inhalation.
    2. Gargling with warm saltwater.
    3. Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.
    4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
    5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcases, etc.
