Sorbitrate 10
Prescription Required
Product introduction
Sorbitrate 10 is used to prevent chest pain (angina attacks). It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart. These tablets will not treat an angina attack that has already begun. They may be also used to control heart failure.
Sorbitrate 10 should be taken on an empty stomach. It is best taken at the same time every day. Your doctor will decide the dose and the number of times each day you should take them. You should take the medicine as it is prescribed for you and keep taking it, even if you feel well. If you stop taking it suddenly your risk of an angina attack will increase. Lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this drug work better.
You can develop tolerance to this medicine over time, which means that the same dose becomes less effective. You have to stick to a really specific dosing schedule to prevent this from happening.
The most common side effects of this medicine include headache and lightheadedness. These may disappear once you have got used to the medicine. If you are worried, or the symptoms do not go away, let your doctor know. Some of these can be reduced by taking painkillers, drinking plenty of fluids, and avoiding alcohol. Alcohol may increase some side effects (dizziness, drowsiness, feeling light-headed, or fainting). Medical tests (such as blood pressure) may be required to monitor your progress and check for side effects.

FAQs
Q. What is Sorbitrate 10 and what is it used for?
Sorbitrate 10 belongs to a group of medicines called organic nitrates. Sorbitrate 10 is used to prevent and treat angina pectoris and as an adjunctive treatment in severe acute or chronic congestive cardiac failure.
Q. How does Sorbitrate 10 work?
Sorbitrate 10 works by widening the blood vessels in your heart to allow an increased amount of blood flow to areas which need it.
Q. Does Sorbitrate 10 lower heart rate?
No, Sorbitrate 10 does not lower heart rate. However, in some cases, one may experience reflex tachycardia (fast heart rate) while using nitrates such as Sorbitrate 10.
Q. Does Sorbitrate 10 lower blood pressure?
Yes, Sorbitrate 10 lowers blood pressure. This medicine widens the blood vessels and decreases the resistance in them, causing a fall in blood pressure. This fall in blood pressure may in turn decrease the heartbeat which can lead to angina. This medicine should be avoided in people who already have low blood pressure. Discuss with your doctor if you have any concerns.
Q. Can I take sildenafil while taking Sorbitrate 10?
No, you should not take sildenafil along with Sorbitrate 10. Both these medicines lower blood pressure and belong to the same class. Taking these two medicines together may cause significant decrease in blood pressure which can cause fainting or even a heart attack. Along with this, avoid taking other medicines which belong to the same class such as vardenafil and tadalafil.
