Stelabid 5mg/1mg Tablet is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, and diarrhea or constipation). It prevents the sudden spasm of muscles to relieve stomach pain and cramps. It also promotes easy passage of gas to reduce stomach discomfort.
Stelabid 5mg/1mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

Stelabid 5mg/1mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Isopropamide and Trifluoperazine. Isopropamide is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the acetylcholine (a chemical messenger) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
