How Benzalkonium Chloride + Gatifloxacin works
Benzalkonium Chloride + Gatifloxacin is a combination of two medicines : Benzalkonium Chloride and Gatifloxacin that is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Benzalkonium Chloride works as a preservative by preventing the growth of harmful microorganisms. This helps prolong the shelf life of medicines. Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
