How Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid works
Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Choline Salicylate and Tannic Acid. Choline Salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) which cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) in the mouth. Tannic Acid is an astringent which works by forming a protective layer over mouth sores while exerting antiviral and antibacterial effects.

- Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid is used to treat painful mouth ulcers.
- Using a clean finger to massage the gel onto the sore area, not more than once every 3 hours.
- Avoid eating and drinking immediately after applying Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid.
- Avoid putting dentures or braces back in the mouth for half an hour after applying the gel in your mouth.
- Use a soft toothbrush after consulting your dentist.
- Avoid spicy foods, acidic fruit drinks, and very salty foods (such as crisps) which can make the pain and sting worse.
- Do not smoke while using Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid as it might cause some side effects.
- Consult your doctor if your pain does not improve after using this medication for 7-14 days, or if your symptoms get worse.
