Fingolimod Uses

How Fingolimod works
Fingolimod is a sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulator. In multiple sclerosis, the immune cells (lymphocytes) attack the nervous system and deteriorate their functioning. This medicine works by reducing the number of lymphocytes in the body, thereby stopping them from entering the brain and affecting the central nervous system (the brain and nerves). Thus, Fingolimod treats the condition and also prevents any recurrence of the disease.
