How Levosulpiride + Dimethicone works
Levosulpiride + Dimethicone is a combination of two medicines: Levosulpiride and Dimethicone. Levosulpiride is a prokinetic which works by increasing the release of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger). This increases the movement of stomach and intestines, and prevents reflux (acid going up to the food pipe). Dimethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

- Levosulpiride + Dimethicone is prescribed for short-term relief from constipation.
- It should preferably be taken at bedtime as it requires 6 to 8 hours to show effect.
- Take it at least 2 hours after taking other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach disorders such as appendicitis or a blockage in your bowel.
- Do not take any other laxative along with Levosulpiride + Dimethicone without consulting your doctor.

- Eat more fiber in your diet; recommended daily intake is 20-35g.
